Some sites like Amazon and The Library of Congress now require secure connections when accessing their sites. Normally this is not an issue as Readerware is able to connect to secure or HTTPS sites. However some users have experienced problems establishing a secure connection.
In all cases this was traced to a problem with Kaspersky Anti-Virus. In order to monitor secure connections, they replace the site security certificate with their own self-signed certificate. This causes a problem. When setting up a secure connection Readerware ensures that the site certificate was issued by a known certificate authority. This test fails because Kaspersky Anti-Virus has replaced the real site certificate with their own certificate.
To use Readerware with Kaspersky Anti-Virus you must disable the encrypted connection scan.
